High Southern Scapes is a family-owned and operated landscaping company, led by Jack Benninghoff and William Brooks.
HSS is Charlotte's leading Landscape General Contractor.
We work closely with custom home builders, construction managers, and residential clients to bring outdoor visions to life. We offer services for both commercial and residential clients, including new construction and maintenance.
Our Story
High Southern Scapes was born from a passion for transforming ordinary outdoor spaces into extraordinary landscapes. In 2017, Jack Benninghoff, a North Carolina State University alumnus, founded the company in Charlotte, North Carolina, combining his love for agriculture and entrepreneurship. With a degree in Agriculture Business and minors in Entrepreneurship and Economics, Jack's vision was clear: "Elevating outdoor spaces through innovative design, expert craftsmanship, and unparalleled customer service."
Jack's dedication and expertise quickly gained recognition in the Queen City. His approach to landscaping focused on crafting environments that harmonize with nature, enhancing the beauty and value of each property.
In 2022, Will Brooks joined as co-owner, bringing a fresh perspective and complementary skills. A Mississippi State University graduate with a degree in Finance and a minor in Real Estate Development, Will's mantra, "Creating living spaces that inspire and rejuvenate," echoed the company’s philosophy. His background in finance and real estate development, along with his interests in woodworking, gardening, and the outdoors, made him the perfect partner.​
Under Jack and Will's leadership, High Southern Scapes has become a trusted name in Charlotte, known for innovative designs, meticulous craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service. They offer services from weekly lawn maintenance to custom garden installations and complete landscape overhauls, tailoring each project to meet clients' unique needs.
